Enhancing Artistic Standards for Athens' Artists

Meetings

Meetings are typically held the first Thursday of the month at the Lyndon House Art Center, 293 Hoyt St., Athens, GA 30601 (706) 613-3623. We begin at 7pm with a program, followed by a business meeting and refreshments.  In December, we have a holiday party on a date decided by the members. In May, we hold a spring social, often at a member's home or local park.  The Athens Art Association does not meet in June, July, and August. We hope you will join us!

2014 - 2015 MEETINGS

September 4th:  Refreshments preceded a planning session, followed by members showing art they'd brought and have been working on and telling a little about it..

October 2nd:   Bob Clements presented our program, "What is the Most Important Thing You've Learned From Your Favorite Teacher".  Members brought and showed pieces of their own artwork.

Please note the change in date and place this month:  Second Thursday in November, the  13th:  The new classroom at OCAF in the School Street Studios Building (the building to the left as you face the main 1902 office/galleries building): Bob Clements lead the meeting on design and composition: "What Makes A Good Design For Art?" and  "Mood in Painting". Pieces of art illustrated principles of design.

December: Christmas lunch at the Hilltop Grille Restaurant.  Members brought gifts for the Lyndon House art program.
